Desiccant Foils & Films
Our Desiccant Film is a new type of desiccant technology, that’s highly flexible and adaptable to the requirements of product packaging, whilst also providing the key desiccant function required by so many packaged items.
This new desiccant technology has the appearance of a simple plastic sheet – but it contains a proprietary drying agent within it. This drying agent (a.k.a. ‘desiccant’) absorbs moisture and thus reduces the potential for degradation reactions inside your packaging. Slim profile packaging, that requires a minor amount of moisture protection, is the ideal application for this new desccant film.
Desiccant film technology can control the moisture content inside the headspace of any pack, and maintain it at a low level, for an extended period. This in turn, will extend your product’s shelf-life.
Another advantage of desiccant film, when compared to the inclusion of more traditional desiccant sachets, is the fact that it is very low-profile. This reduces the appearance / presence of the desiccant, and increases your product’s aesthetic appeal.
Given that it’s a combined ‘barrier and desiccant’ material, it does not require a traditional loose desiccant (such as a sachet or canister) to be added to the pack, and this reduces the risk of ‘accidental ingestion’ of the desiccant.
It’s worth noting that our sheets of desiccant film can also be supplied in an ‘adhesive-backed’ format: for fixing in-place inside the packaging by your workers, or by your machinery.
We often produce these films for a specific customer application, typically in thicknesses of 0.3mm to 1.5mm. Thicker options, as well as tailored shapes, are also available. These latter options are made by injection moulding the desiccant plastic.

The advantage of Desiccant Film relative to other desiccants is its slimline profile – this allows significant savings on internal space, inside your product’s packaging.
This new desiccant technology is easy-to-shape via die-cutting, and thus can be formed into numerous packaging possibilities. The plastic sheet can be either heat-staked or glued onto the inner wall of your package, which is discreet and which prevents accidental ingestion. It is available in various formats such as: reels of tape, single sheets, individual labels (either self-adhesive, or non-adhesive for heat-staking), injection-moulded pucks, or as bespoke shapes… all depending on which option is best for you and your product.
Desiccant Film doesn’t have the adsorptive power of traditional desiccants such as SUPERDRYPAK™ Sachets or SUPERDRYPAK™ Canisters …BUT it excels in those applications and industries where there is a need for a small desiccant and where slim pack sizes are absolutely essential.
